Hello, and welcome to my website. I am a professionally accredited Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist and psychotherapist, with a practice in the centre of Bristol (Whiteladies Road) and online.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines talking therapy (Psychotherapy) with clinical Hypnosis (Hypnotherapy). During a session we use a combination of techniques and suggestions based on the latest research in neuroscience and solution focused therapy. This powerful combination helps my clients reduce stress and make positive changes in their lives. It uses an approach that is focused on building solutions, rather than dwelling on problems or past issues. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy looks at what you want to achieve rather than on the problem that prompted you to seek change.

This is a no-obligation informative session and lasts around an hour. We will discuss your goals and the outcomes you would like to achieve. I will explain how Solution Focused Hypnotherapy works, how the subconscious/conscious mind works in relation to you, in simple straightforward terms and also a chance to answer any questions you may have.
If you decide hypnotherapy is a suitable course of action for you, and you feel comfortable and confident in us working together, I will create a personalised treatment plan. We can book in your first session, usually no later than in one week’s time, and you’ll receive a hypnotic relaxation track to listen to at home in between the sessions.

My story …..
About 20 years ago now, I was fortunate to be asked to design some course graphics for my father, David Newton who founded Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and now headed the Clifton Practise Hypnotherapy Training CPHT. Reading about neuroscience, the intellectual and primitive brain, and why we think and act the way we do, help me understand my struggles with anxiety.
Throughout my career, I had always maintained that “calm and collective” appearance on the outside, while inside using coping mechanisms and avoidances to deal with everyday stress. It had always felt like a weakness that needed to be kept hidden. Looking back this affected my confidence and moments when it felt completely overwhelming. My mind would go over and over the same thoughts and always with the worst possible outcomes. At home, I had become distant, distracted, short-tempered, unable to fully concentrate at work, uncontrollable panic attacks and many other physical symptoms. I started seeing an SFH therapist and very soon felt much more positive, confident and above all back in control.
A few years later, knowing my own experience would be so valuable, I decided to start a new career as a hypnotherapist and enjoy helping my clients to a better future every day. I am now a director at CPHT Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Training and enjoy seeing clients in my practice and online in the comfort of their own homes.
